Hercules Waterfront District Master Plan

As part of Sargent Town Planning, Robert Alminana was project manager and lead designer for this new urban district in the City of Hercules.

The project included the preparation of a master plan and form-based code for this brown-field site. The City of Hercules had long intended that the site be planned as a downtown district, preserving certain historic structures of the former Hercules Powder Company factory town.

At the hub of the Master Plan is the mixed-use, pedestrian- and transit-oriented Historic Town Center District, complete with a new Amtrak station. The Plan also includes two residential neighborhoods that radiate from the Historic Town Center, and a higher-density mixed-use neighborhood.
