The Downtown Cotati Master Plan was designed by a team led by Laura Hall while she was a principal of Fisher & Hall Urban Design. In March 2000, the Cotati community took part in a series of focus groups and walking audits that focused on developing a vision for the Downtown. The community identified missing elements that would transform Downtown Cotati into a more functional and enjoyble place to live, visit, work, shop and play. Fisher & Hall Urban Design conducted a follow-up public process to help the community prioritize their design preferences. Their highest priorities included the pedestrian-friendly re-design of the bridge; public seating; new streetlights and additional parking, all of which were constructed and built within 3 years of this plan. The design team also included Winzler & Kelly civil engineers and Whitlock and Weinberger Transportation Planners.
