Basin Street Landing

Laura Hall of Fisher & Hall Urban Design was Project Facilitator for the design of the architectural style and the public realm (i.e., sidewalks, plaza, etc.) through engagement with the community, visioning workshops, stakeholder meetings and walking tours. The lead architect of the block-long building was Strauss Architects of San Francisco.

Basin Street Landing is one of the first mixed-use buildng constructed in Petaluma’s riverfront warehouse district in recent times. One of the community’s interests was to have the architecture reflect both the character of the historic buildings in downtown Petaluma and also a contemporary flair. They also expressed a strong interest in a pedestrian-oriented public space between this building and the Petaluma River, which became the Riverfront Plaza.
